Well today was a strange day of poker for me. I got off to good start and spent most of the day up +$50-$100. I grinded it out like that for a long time but on one hand I got cold decked or made a bad play (you be the judge), which sent me back to even money. But shortly after the hand that put me back to even I ended up hitting a 2 outer on the river and took down a monster pot! I started play at around 2:30PM bought in for $200 and eventually cashed out $441 at 9:30PM.
One of my first hands was AKos in early position I make it $12 to go and only the BB calls. The flop comes J 7 J and the old man in the BB glared at me and bet out $15. I figured he had a hand like 88/99 and was making a feeler bet. I decided I did not want any part of this and folded.
A few hands later I had A7os in the BB. A bunch of players limp and I check. The flop is A 7 8 (2 hearts). I bet out $10, one guy calls and another raises...

Well today was a total grind and I am now exausted. For the most part I played OK but I had a little bad luck with people constantly hitting flushes againtst me. I did however make one bad call which cost me $50 but I will get to that later. I started play at around 2:15PM bought in for $320 and ended up cashing out $257 at around 9:30PM.
AA/AA/KK - I picked up some big hands early but got little action on them. I either took down the pot with a pre flop raise or ended up heads up bet out on the flop and took it down. I won a lot of small pots that way.
AK/AK - I played big slick twice the same way with the same result. Pre flop raise of about $12 it gets to heads up the flop comes J high both times and both times I bet out and my opponent folds.
The hand of the day for me was definatly 22 I was dealt this hand about 6 times. I lost a big pot flopping a set of 222. Heres how it happened: I was in mid position and limped in...

+$350

Well here goes... the first ever post on my blog. Nobody knows this blog exists so hopefully some time in the near future someone will read this. I am 23 years old and aspire to be a pro poker player, even though I do play cards for a living I don't consider myself a "pro", I am however a grinder. I play 1/2 NL Texas Holdem (blinds $1/$2 $200 max buy in) at my local card room. I have decided to start this blog to post my results for each sesssion and get feedback on my play from all the other grinders out there. Today I ended my session cashing out $550 for a profit of $350 which is a very good day for me. I started play somewhere around 1PM and cashed out at around 7:45 PM.
I would say the hand of the day for me was AQs because I won 2 nice pots with it. I looked down at AQ of spades from early position after one limper. I decided to raise to $13, two players called. The flop came J high w/ 2 diamonds (from what a recall) I decided to try and take the pot down and bet...
